Welcome to Blackman United Methodist Church (BUMC)

We’re so glad you are considering visiting us at Blackman United Methodist Church, and we look forward to meeting you. Worship is a vital part of our spiritual growth and development. We value gathering together as the body of Christ to praise and honor Jesus. If you should have any questions, please email us by clicking the “Contact Us” tab above. You can also find our worship services online, both live and on demand, at youtube.com/blackmanumc.
Parking and Pre-Worship
We have a large parking area in front of the church with visitor parking spaces at the front right of the parking lot as you pull in. For worship, you will enter through the doors on the far right when facing the church. Here in the narthex, ushers will greet you with a bulletin and a smile.

Sunday School
Between first service at 8:30 a.m. (Traditional) and the second service at 10:45 a.m. (Contemporary). We have Sunday School for all ages. More information about the Sunday School classes can be found by clicking here. The doors on the far left, when looking at the church, lead directly into our Fellowship Hall.
Worship Services
There are two Sunday morning worship services (8:30 a.m. (traditional) and 10:45 a.m. (Contemporary)) available at Blackman UMC, each held in the sanctuary located on the right as you approach from the parking lot. Some will dress up, and others will be casual, but simply come as you are most comfortable and join us.
The Traditional services sing primarily traditional hymns, but different styles of music are incorporated into the service at various times. The Contemporary Service sings praise songs and has a casual feel. We also invite the congregation to participate in worship through our responsive calls to worship, communal prayers, and giving of tithes and offerings.
Children
Our 8:30 a.m. (Traditional) and 10:45 a.m. (Contemporary) Worship services include a special time for children. They are invited to the front of the sanctuary for a children’s sermon and prayer.
Communion
Sunday mornings at both services, generally the first Sunday of the month. The communion table of the United Methodist Church is an open table. You do not have to be a member of the church to partake, and everyone is welcome. The invitation to the table is an invitation to a personal and lasting relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Nursery for Infants & Toddlers
Children are very important to us at Blackman UMC; therefore, we are a Safe Sanctuary church. A nursery is provided during each worship service for toddlers and infants up to age 4. Our trained, experienced (18-20 yrs) nursery staff will welcome you and your child in Room 104. We only ask that you please sign in your child when dropping them off for safety/security reasons, so we have contact information from the parents/guardians. For more information about our Safe Spaces program, please contact the church office.
