Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is the adult (and younger, by special arrangement) choir at Blackman UMC. They assist in leading worship and provide special music most weeks. They also perform at special occasions, such as the annual Cantata service during Advent and at Easter on Palm Sunday. The Choir is made up entirely of volunteers who use their gifts to “make a joyful noise unto the Lord.” Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings during the choir season

The choir generally takes a few weeks off during the summer months of July and August.

Anyone interested in singing with the Chancel Choir should contact Mike Rose, Music Director, at music@blackmanumc.com.

Handbell Choir

Blackman UMC has an adult handbell choir that plays at various times throughout the year..  We have a 4 octave set of Malmark handbells with chimes that was purchased through memorial gifts from the members of the congregation.  Balatta performs in worship, and occasionally at area events.  We even performed “The Star Spangled Banner” at the fieldhouse at MTSU for the start of a basketball game. The handbell choir is currently seeking new ringers. Anyone interested should contact Mike Rose, the Music Director at BUMC.
