Worship

We’re so glad you are considering visiting us at Blackman United Methodist Church and look forward to meeting you.  You can learn a great deal about Blackman on this page and throughout this website, but if you should have any questions, please email us by clicking the “Contact Us” tab above.

You can also find our worship services online both live and on-demand at youtube.com/blackmanumc.

Parking and Pre-Worship

We have a large parking area in front of the church with visitor parking spaces at the front right of the parking lot as you pull in.  For worship, you will come in the doors to the far right when you are looking at the church.  Here in the narthex ushers will greet you with a bulletin and a smile.  They can answer any questions you might have about Blackman UMC and you may enter the sanctuary to have a seat.  Also in the narthex, before or after service, be sure to look at the small table in the middle, which has information on upcoming events and sign-up sheets posted for volunteer opportunities going on at that time

Worship Services

There are two Sunday morning worship services (8:30 and 10:45 a.m.) available at Blackman UMC, each held in the sanctuary located on the right as you approach from the parking lot.  Some will dress up and others will be casual, but simply come as you are most comfortable and join us.

Sunday School

Between first service at 8:30 a.m. and second service at 10:45 a.m., we have Sunday School for all ages.  More information about the Sunday School classes can be found by clicking here.  The doors to the far left when looking at the church, take you directly into our Fellowship Hall.

Communion Services

Sunday mornings at both services, generally the first Sunday of the month.  The communion table of the United Methodist Church is an open table. You do not have to be a member of the church to partake and everyone is welcomed. The invitation to the table is an invitation to a personal and lasting relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Nursery for Infants & Toddlers

Children are very important to us at Blackman UMC and, therefore, we are a Safe Sanctuary church.  A nursery is provided during each worship service for toddlers and infants up to age 3.  The nursery is located in our preschool wing in rooms 104 and 106.  We only ask that you please sign in your child when dropping them off for safety/security reasons and so we have contact information from the parents/guardians.  For more information about our Safe Sanctuary program please contact the church office.

Children

At our 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. worship services we include a special time for children. They are invited to come to the front of the sanctuary for a children’s sermon and prayer.  After the children’s message, children ages 3 thru 1st grade exit the sanctuary to attend Children’s Church.  There is no Children’s Church on Communion Sunday.
